The quality of the tea leaves used in this pressed puerh cake is the best puerh grade that you would ever have encountered. The tea leaves were hand-plucked from wild, tall, and ancient tea trees ( 野生喬木) with broad leaves in early spring of 2008 - specifically, before Chinese lunar calendar Bright and Clear (清明前). The tea underwent the traditional method of shaiching (曬青) that fully preserved the naturally strong-body, bitter and astringent flavors treasured by many puerh tea lovers. The leaves are characterized by two-leaf and one-heart pick (一心兩葉) with many young, silvery tips (白毫). This tea will develop and mellow into a sweet, smooth tasting tea through time and proper storage method.
